EICR Certificate in City of London: what you get
A fixed-price Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out to BS 7671 by an NICEIC-approved inspector, with the digital report emailed to you — usually the same day. Our engineers work across City of London every week, so we can usually offer flexible, next-day and same-day appointments in Barbican and Blackfriars.
An EICR — often called a landlord electrical safety certificate — is a formal inspection and test of the fixed wiring in a property: the consumer unit, circuits, sockets, switches, light fittings and permanently connected equipment such as showers and extractor fans. Each circuit is tested for continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance and RCD operation, then the inspector records any defects using the C1, C2, C3 and FI codes.
- Full inspection and test of every circuit to BS 7671 (18th Edition)
- Visual check of consumer unit, accessories, earthing and bonding
- RCD and RCBO trip-time testing
- Digital EICR emailed as a PDF, normally within 24 hours
- Clear C1 / C2 / C3 / FI coding with a fixed-price remedial quote
- Copy formatted for tenants, letting agents and the local council

EICR Certificate in City of London: FAQs
How much does an EICR cost in City of London?
Our fixed EICR price in City of London starts at £79 for a one-bedroom flat and scales by property size — a studio is £71 and a three-bed house £150. The price is confirmed before booking and includes the digital certificate.
How often does a landlord need an EICR?
At least every five years, or sooner if the previous report recommends a shorter interval. Landlords must give a copy to existing tenants within 28 days of the inspection, to new tenants before they move in, and to the local council within 7 days of a request.
What happens if my EICR is unsatisfactory?
Any C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous) or FI (further investigation) code makes the report unsatisfactory. Remedial work must be completed within 28 days, or sooner if the report says so, and written confirmation sent to the tenant and council within 28 days of the work.
How long does an EICR take?
Most flats take two to three hours and a three- or four-bed house three to five hours. The power is switched off for parts of the test, so we agree access and timing with tenants in advance.
Can you do a same-day EICR in City of London?
Often, yes. Same-day and 48-hour slots are available in City of London for a small priority fee, subject to engineer availability when you book.
